Caite Hevner is a theatrical designer based in NYC. Her designs have been seen on Broadway, off-Broadway, across the United States, and internationally. 

Caite is a proud member of USA829, where she serves as a Member Representative for the Eastern Region, as well as co-chair of the Respectful Workplace Committee. She has served on Broadway, off-Broadway, and LORT negotiating committees.

She has taught as an adjunct faculty member at Rutgers University, Ramapo College and Fordham University, and has been a lecturer/guest speaker at many institutions including New York University, University of Maryland, University of the Arts, Webster University, San Diego State University, Florida State University, The Jim Moran Institute for Global Entrepreneurship, and Berklee College of Music. Caite has taught master classes including with the Broadway Teachers Workshop, and has created free courses on theatrical design available online to educators and students through Artful Resources. She has been a panelist on curated conversations with HowlRound, has appeared on several episodes of “In 1: the podcast,” and has presented at conferences including multiple talks at LDI.

Her work has earned a Drama Desk Award nomination (2023, Between the Lines), a Lortel Award nomination (2022, Sweatshop Overlord), as well as three Henry Hewes Design Award nominations (2023, Between the Lines; 2022, Sweatshop Overlord; 2018, Diaspora).

Caite holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from NYU Tisch School of the Arts, a Graduate Certificate from Yale School of Drama, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Florida State University.

Associates:

Sydney Dye is a New York City based projection design associate and is thrilled to be working with Caite Hevner Design. Having worked on over 40 projects together, some of her favorites include: Between the Lines (assistant designer), His Story (associate designer), Elvis: A Musical Revolution (associate designer), and The Many Wondrous Realities of Jasmine Starr-Kidd (associate designer).

From 2019 to 2023, Sydney was a full-season member of the video design department at The Muny. Starting as an intern, she has worked on over 25 full-scale productions with the department, as well as The Muny Summer Variety Hour virtual season in 2020. 

In 2021, Sydney won the John Spiegel Theatrical Artist Award, which recognizes rising talent in the field of theatrical design and production – making her the first and only undergraduate student to have received the award. In the summer of 2020, Sydney was a recipient of the Pat MacKay Diversity in Design Award, sponsored by USITT, LDI, and TSDCA, which recognizes young individuals in the field of projection design that come from diverse backgrounds and experiences. 

Sydney holds a Bachelor of Arts from Elon University.
