Design Beyond Theatre
In addition to theatrical design, Caite works with various corporations and organizations to facilitate their set and projection needs. Above are images of the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, held annually at Carnegie Hall. Caite works closely with the creative team from Scholastic to create and program video content for the event.
Caite is a member of Wingspace Theatrical Design, a Brooklyn-based collective of designers, directors, and dramaturges. The mission of Wingspace is to promote collaboration in the field of theatrical design, while fostering a larger conversation about design, its principles, and the collaborative spirit within the community. This is accomplished in many ways, including holding frequent salon discussions, open to the public, regarding important topics in the field. Wingspace is a producer of Design Meeting, a showcase of graduating MFA design students that is held each May. Wingspace also has a one-year professional mentorship program to help support young theater artists at the start of their careers.
Caite has taught as adjunct faculty at Fordham University, where she has taught projection design, and has served as an advisor for student scenic design production. Caite also works with Ramapo College of New Jersey, where she has taught scenic design, and guest lectures about projection design and technology.
Caite works with charitable organizations such as Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids, where she has designed projections for several numbers in Broadway Bares, an annual event that, in 2016, raised over $1.4 million for the charity.
